Mosaik #18 – Round Tower

When a childhood friend of mine found the chair left for trash in the street; he immediately thought of me and brought it with him. It’s a small, light chair which I had in storage for acouple of months before I decided to give it some proper love and care.

I had a very clear idea about what fabric I wanted to use for the Mosaik pattern. But when I finished stuffing the chair and was about to upholster it; the fabric I had chosen no longer seemed like the right fit. Instead, I went for a mixture of retro and vintage Cretonne.

I know a wonderful lady, Lise, who is an excellent embroiderer. She has given me several of her embroideries and I realized that one of them would be perfect for the chair. The embroidery depicts Rundetårn (The Round Tower) in Copenhagen and has given the chair its name.
