Mosaik #16 – Jussi’s Chair
As a huge fan of Jussi Adler-Olsens books, it was a huge honour to reupholster his personal work char. After eighteen years of use and ten books, the chair had gotten a bit worn and tired.
“You should do that thing that you do so well” he said – and it was only then that I realized that he wanted a Mosaik chair.
From the very beginning I had an image of a red line stretching across the entire chair, bringing the disparate parts of it together. Everything else was created around that line.
The old armrests were so worn that they had to be dressed in cognac-coloured Aniline leather. The chair was super fun to make and I am very happy with the result – I think it is an incredibly beautiful and very masculine office chair.
