Mosaik #14 – The Dot-Chair
#14 is another chair that was gifted to me. A family had inherited it and couldn’t bear to simply discard it. It was in such a rough shape that it would’ve been costly to repair.
The family visited regularly while I was reupholstering the chair and are very pleased with the result.
The red dots are a motif which has been with me for years. I always wanted a blue t-shirt with a big red dot on the chest. Now there are three of those dots on this chair and I love it.
All the fabric on the chair is Hallingdal from Kvadrat. It is 70% wool and 30% viscose. The welts and facings are made of Aniline leather – I’ve always adored the combination of fabric and leather. I’ve chosen not to do anything to the legs besides cleaning them; I love the fact that a part of the old chair is still there.
